What happens if it rains, decided

The ceremony moves to the grain floor, the chairs move with it, and nothing else about the day changes. There is no plan C and we do not want one.

Several people have asked, so here is the answer in one place.

If it is raining at two o’clock, the ceremony happens on the grain floor instead of the yard. Same eighty chairs, same registrar, same half past two. The drinks move into the long barn, which is where they were going anyway at four.

We are not hiring a marquee. The mill has a roof, and it has held since 1806.

The one thing that changes for you

Shoes. The yard is gravel and the field is a field, and after rain the walk from the parking is genuinely muddy for about forty metres. Bring something you can change out of, or something you do not mind ruining.

If you need a level route from the gate to the barn, tell us in your reply and Nell will meet you at the lane.
