Can I bring someone?

If your envelope has two names on it, yes. If it has one, the mill holds eighty and we are at eighty-one. Ask us anyway if it matters — we would rather you asked than assumed either way.

Are children welcome?

Yes, all of them, all day. There is a room off the long barn with beds in it from eight o’clock and someone sensible sitting in it.

What time should I actually arrive?

Any time from two. The ceremony starts at half past and the registrar will not hold it.

What if it rains?

Then the ceremony moves indoors to the grain floor and nothing else changes. There is no plan C and we do not need one.

Can I park overnight?

Yes. Cars can stay in the field and be collected before eleven on Sunday morning.

Is there a dress code?

Whatever you would wear to a good lunch, and shoes for gravel. No black tie, no colour you have to avoid.

Can I bring my dog?

Only Mabel, sorry — the field has sheep in it either side of the weekend and the farmer was clear.

Is it accessible?

The yard, the long barn and the loos are all level. The grain floor is up eight stone steps with a handrail, and there is a lift at the back of the barn we can take you up in. Tell us in your reply and we will meet you at the gate.

Can I take photographs?

During the ceremony, no. After it, as many as you like, and please send them to us.

Something has changed and I cannot come

Ring or write, however late. Nobody has ever been in trouble for this.
